Kujala
My name is Chabbie Kujala and I am from Malaysia. I've been training
canines for 6 years now and after moving to Finland I started to work
with Susanna from Pieni Koiruus -dog school and now you will reach
us also from the Dogility Training Team.
These years as a trainer has been satisfying, proud and sometimes
filled with challenging moments. My journey started with Hurley, she
was a normal puppy, growing up, biting, jumping and doing what puppies
does best. I loved her to bits but I realised that our relationship
was strained cause of the things that I was doing wrongly. I told
myself, this has to stop and I decided to educate myself in areas
of canine training. At that time, Terry Ryan was having a Canine Seminar
in Malaysia. I liked the concept especially with positive reinforcement
methods. I decided to learn more, so I attended Dog Sense and Instructor
Training Course with Terry Ryan, CPDT in Seattle, United States. Now
being able to help dog owners in Finland is part of the journey in
my career of canine training.
I have been working with puppies and older dogs with behavioural
problems. I believe it's never too late to train your dog! I was a
volunteer at a local Animal Rights Foundation where I was giving talks
on Animal Awareness in schools. I trained my golden retriever, Hurley
and my Rottweiler, Rayhel as a Companion Dog, where I brought them
to visit the Old Folks Home and Children's Orphanages. The unconditional
love a dog can provide is priceless. It is my goal to help owners
create a relationship with their dog built on mutual trust and respect.
Family companion canine training, behaviour modification, and dog
manners are my main interest. It has always been a joy for me to see
a strong and respectful relationship being established between owner
and canine. All dogs benefit from a leader who is kind, fair, and
consistent. Good owners teach manners and insist on polite behaviour.
When you have established yourself as the leader, your dog will strive
to respond to your direction.
In addition to training canines, I had the privilege to learn from
Katie Sdoa, MA, CAAB, Marine Mammal Trainer (training dolphins, sea
lions and walrus) on canine training and also with whom I trained
rats at the rat-training camp at Sequim, Seattle.
I am also member of Association of Pet Dog Trainers and International
Association of Canine Professionals.
